About David O Bernard
David O. Bernard is an operations executive, business transformation leader, and creator of The Bernard Management System™ (BMS™)—a management philosophy and enterprise operating framework designed to align people, processes, and performance to strengthen the enterprise.
With more than 30 years of leadership experience across automotive and industrial manufacturing, David has led organizations ranging from individual manufacturing facilities to multi-site regional operations. His experience spans vehicle assembly, powertrain machining, body-in-white, paint operations, plastics manufacturing, fuel systems, maintenance, engineering, supply chain, quality, materials management, and continuous improvement.
Throughout his career, David has held leadership positions responsible for manufacturing operations, business transformation, operational excellence, and organizational performance. He has led initiatives supporting hundreds of millions of dollars in annual revenue and organizations employing thousands of people, while driving measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and operational reliability.
Rather than viewing operational excellence as a collection of independent tools and methodologies, David believes lasting performance is achieved through a disciplined management system that aligns every function toward a common enterprise objective.
